Rooted in Clay - Wild flower seed mixture

£4.00

Rooted in clay: Some wild flowers relish having their feet in damp, heavy clay soils, so here’s a mixture for those of you that might be struggling with such conditions. Contains British native wildflower species suited for clay soils including lady's bedstraw, Bird's-foot trefoil, salad burnet, meadow buttercup, meadow crane's-bill, wild carrot, cat's-ear, cowslip, oxeye daisy, rough hawkbit, common knapweed, greater knapweed, black medick, hoary plantain, ribwort plantain, selfheal, common sorrel, kidney vetch, yarrow and yellow rattle.

Sow in spring or autumn into a fine, well prepared seed bed and lightly rake, then firm soil. Ensure seedlings are well watered and keep free of unwanted weeds. Cut back all growth at the end of flowering (late Aug-Sept), removing all cuttings. If growing with grasses cut them back every few weeks in first year to allow wildflowers to establish, otherwise grasses will dominate. This unique Plantlife wildflower mix will help you (and your bees and butterflies) enjoy native flowers in your garden.
